For years, I have been developing my Professional Learning Network, but this is the first year that I have been able to have my school district help send me to ISTE. For those that have never been, and who may have been curious if it was worth their time/money? The answer is a RESOUNDING YES!
Surrounded by THOUSANDS of motivated and innovative teachers, educational technology directors, and administrators from all over the globe, has been the best professional experience of my 15 year career in education. Having the opportunity to spend 6 hours (or more) per day in sessions listening, sharing, and creating with others, will continue to be an incredible influence on my own career, and more importantly my students' educational careers.
ISTE is truly the definition of IMPETUS:"the force that makes something happen or makes a body move". My experience so far has been tremendous; meeting others, listening to their stories, experiencing the innovation that they use with their students, their schools, and their districts. I am looking forward to sharing more, absorbing more, and most importantly, sharing it with my peers, my students, and anyone who will listen, anyone interested in being an Impetus of Change for education.
